Broer BV in Creil (The Netherlands) specializes in first-year plants, plant shallots and garlic. After the harvest, the crops are stored for several months in wooden pallets. Through an ingenious ventilation system, air is blown at the correct temperature and with the right humidity through the crates, along the crops. This way they remain well preserved until they are delivered. The 170 fans mounted on the drying wall blow air down through a long shaft. The air is conditioned with a heat pump installation. Each fan can be adjusted individually. Thanks to a pressure sensor, the air condition can be read per fan.
